Chapter IV.

As I stepped into the house, I saw wood floors, marble counter tops, and a large flight of stairs to my left. As I climbed the stairs, many thoughts were racing through my mind. Like "Why did we move here? It is a nice house though. I wonder what Lilly is doing right now? ..." The list went on and on. When I got to the top of the stairs, I saw a door right across from me. I opened it and I saw white walls splashed with sun light. I decided this would be my room. I set my backpack down and looked out my window. I shielded my eyes from the glare of the sun while looking over the lawn and the beach.

"Sooo . . . How do you like it?" asked my mom, I noticed her voice was overly enthusiastic.

"It's pretty nice.” I said in a dull, lifeless voice.

"Well I'm glad it's Ok. Your dad will come up with your stuff in a minute. Ok?" my mom asked, probably expecting some overly enthusiastic voice to match hers.

"What evs." I said. Not really wanting to talk right now.

I guess mom sensed that and she left. So once again I was in my room. I took one last glance before dad walked in.

"Hey honey. What do you think? Did I pick the right house or did I pick the right house?" he joked, that cheered me up a little. I am always grateful for dad's humor!

"It's not that bad, I guess, The room is pretty nice and so is the view." I replied honestly.

"Well I'm glad your excellency is pleased," he said, smiling the whole time.

I giggled, I didn't want to ruin his good mood, so I gave him a hug and thanked him for moving here. Even though I still wish I was in Tennessee.

You used excellant description, and i love the way you made her tell why she was feeling that way. She has a good sense of humor, it kinda reminds me of someone...who could that be?
