Chapter II.

The car's wheels crunched on the gravel driveway of our so called "house." It was a nice two story with a lawn, a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, a big patio, and a beautiful view of the beach.

"Wow! I can't believe we're gonna live here! I want the room that looks at the beach. When can we go to swimming? Is the water warm?..." my brother asked.

"We can go to the beach on Saturday, Joel. To answer your question about the water, yes it is pretty warm." my mother replied, covering all the bases.

I have to admit, it was a nice house, but still not the same as Tennessee. My dad started to unload the car, and I grabbed my bag. I opened the car door and stepped out. Out of the of the corner of my eye I saw a group of three girls huddled together, whispering. They were all dressed in sun wraps and the hottest two pieces.

Chapter I.

I turned my i-pod up louder so I didn't have to hear my little brother talk about how great living here is gonna be.

"Boy I can't wait till school. I bet I'm gonna make tons of friends! Hey mom, when does school start? Hey mom, can I have my own room? Hey mom . . . " my little brother droned on.

"Hey mom, hey mom . . . " I mimicked him in a nasally voice. My mom laughed and my brother stuck his tongue out at me.

"Joel don't stick your tongue out at your sister, and Karen, don't tease your brother," my dad said.

"Oh Darold, you know Karen is in a bad mood. I mean she wasn't so crazy bout movin. Just cut her a little slack, ok?" my mother whispered to my dad.

My dad didn't reply, he just kept on driving the car. Normally I wouldn't have cared what my brother says. I just don't get how he can be so exited to leave his friends. He is just in 2nd though. So I can't just expect him to understand.

New House, New Life!

"We are here . . . " said my mother in her singsong voice.

I just rolled my eyes and turned toward the car window. Tennessee seemed so far away, but in reality it was only a 6-hour plane ride. It is so much more different in Florida than Tennessee. It's warmer, more people, no open spaces or rolling plains, but the worst part about Florida is the people. They all look shallow, selfish, and they all have perfect tans. Basically, they are the goody goodies of the U.S.

"Mom, why did we even move here? I mean common. I don't have any friends here, I have no clue what Florida is even like, and face it mom, we look like hillbillies!" I said. Being perfectly frank.

"Oh Karen, you don't look like a hillbilly. You just have your own unique style, that’s all," my mother replied, obviously trying to make me feel better.

"Stop trying to make me feel better. It's not working," I moaned. Actually I was half crying half screaming in my head. Man I wish I was still in Tennessee. Back there I had a horse, tons of acreage, and FRIENDS! I guess my parents don’t understand that though, because they made me move anyway. I tried to compromise by saying I would stay at one of my BFF’S house, Lilly, but they said no. So here I am, stuck in this dumb old city in this dumb old state. I am so bored I could throw up. That’s just a figure of speech though, I hate throwing up.

"Grease" The Play!

Today we are going to act out the play Grease! I am the character Frenchy. That is why my hair is curled. I am very nervous. I hope it turns out ok. The problem is that a lot of the main characters are absent most of the time. So our rehearsals are bad, and we always have someone filling in for them. I hope the whole play doesn't tank. I can't wait for 4th period!
